Beryllium Copper

Beryllium copper, also known as Copper beryllium and Beryllium bronze, is a copper alloy with 0.5~3% beryllium and sometimes with other alloying elements. Beryllium copper combines high strength with non-magnetic and non-sparking qualities. It has many specialized applications in tools for hazardous environments, musical instruments, precision measurement devices, bullets, and aerospace.
Because of the excellent fatigue resistance, Beryllium copper is widely used for springs, pressure responsive diaphragms, flexible bellows, connectors, contacts and relays, which are all subject to cyclic loading. Beryllium copper is a ductile, weldable, and machinable alloy.
The anti-galling, strength and good corrosion resistance led to the widespread use of beryllium copper for down hole drilling tools for the oil and gas industry.

Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) provides Beryllium Copper (BeCu) spark-proof wires, rods and sheets.
