The manufacture and applications of tungsten crucible

Tungsten crucible is one of the hot products of tungsten. In terms of process, tungsten crucible is often made through sinter molding, impact molding, spinning molding and welding fabrication. Sinter molded tungsten crucible is typically applied in sinter powder metallurgy. Small-sized tungsten crucible is usually manufactured by turning process using tungsten rod. Tungsten crucibles can be made by processing pure tungsten plate, tungsten sheet and tungsten rod.

Thanks to tungsten’s high melting point, high temperature strength, great pyroconductivity and good hardenability, tungsten crucible can be used under vacuum and inert gases below 2600℃. Tungsten crucible is widely used in industries including rare earth metallurgy, quartz glass, MOCVD equipment and electronic spraying. In addition, tungsten crucible can be used for sapphire crystal growth furnace due to their high temperature resistance, low pollution and other excellent characteristics. Also, because tungsten crucible is with high purity, high density, accurate dimensions, no inner cracks, it can greatly increase the success of sapphire crystal growth.
