Carbonyl Iron Powder (CIP) is a dark gray powder made by thermal decomposition of iron pentacarbonyl. It is used largely as an iron nutrition fortifier and in iron drugs. As a kind of iron supplement, carbonyl iron powder has much higher iron content than ferrous sulfate, ferrous gluconate, and so on.
