Scandium Aluminum is one of numerous metal alloys. Generally immediately available in most volumes, Scandium Aluminum Alloys are available as bar, Ingot, ribbon, wire, shot, sheet, and foil. Ultra high purity and high purity forms also include metal powder, submicron powder and nanoscale, targets for thin film deposition, and pellets for chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD) applications.
Scandium Aluminum Alloys are used for minor aerospace industry components. The common content is 2% scandium. The addition of scandium to aluminum limits the excessive grain growth that occurs in the heat-affected zone of welded aluminum components. Scandium can significantly increase strength and reduce grain size.
Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) manufactures and supplies Aluminum-2% Scandium Master Alloy Ingot, many standard grades are applicable. Typical and custom packaging is available. Primary applications include bearing assembly, ballast, casting, step soldering, and radiation shielding.
Scandium Aluminum Alloys are supplied in Stanford Advanced Materials. Various forms of Sc/Al alloys are available, include ingot, sheet, and etc. Other Scandium products such as Scandium Metal Powder, Scandium Metals, Scandium Oxide (Sc2O3), Scandium Chloride, Scandium Carbonate, Scandium Fluoride, Scandium Nitrate are also available.
