Cobalt Based Welding Rod CoCrMo Description
Cobalt Based Welding Rod CoCrMo consists of complex carbides in an alloy matrix. They are resistant to wear, galling, and corrosion and retain these properties at high temperatures.
Due to the low volume fraction of carbides, the Co-based alloy matrix dominates the wear and corrosion properties. Similar to the composition of Stellite 21, Cobalt Based Welding Rod CoCrMo has excellent cavitation, galling, and metal-to-metal sliding wear resistance, but is not recommended for severe hard particle abrasion.

Cobalt Based Welding Rod CoCrMo FAQs
Q1: What is Cobalt Based Welding Rod (Stellite 21)?
A1: Cobalt Based Welding Rod (Stellite 21) is a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy known for its excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature performance. It is often used for hardfacing and manufacturing components that operate in harsh environments.
Q2: How does Cobalt Based Welding Rod compare to other hardfacing alloys?
A2: Cobalt Based Welding Rod offers a balance of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature stability. It has better ductility compared to other Stellite alloys like Stellite 6 and Stellite 12, making it suitable for applications requiring both toughness and resistance to harsh conditions.
Q3: How should Cobalt Based Welding Rod be stored and handled?
A3: It should be stored in a cool, dry place away from moisture and corrosive substances. Proper handling practices should be followed to avoid contamination and physical damage to the material.
