Er:YAP (Er:YAlO3) Description
Er:YAP has a large emission cross-section of 3μm, which is three times larger than Er:YAG. Highly-doped Er:YAP can emit laser with 2.73μm wavelength, and low-doped Er:YAP crystal can emit 1.66μm laser. The emission and excitation spectra of Er:YAP crystals show a wide emission band in the safe area of the human eye, with peaks around 1545nm and 1608nm, and the pump band is suitable for common 800nm and 970nm diode lasers, which shows that YAP is a candidate crystal for diode-pumped lasers within the safety range of 1.5μm human eyes.
Compared with YAG, Yttrium Perovskite Aluminum (YAP) has higher thermal conductivity (~13.3 W m-1 K-1), good mechanical properties and lower photon energy, and is expected to become a matrix for effective laser emission Material. Moreover, Er:YAP is one of the most promising laser materials, which can provide high-power mid-infrared coherent beams.
