Erbium dihydride (ErH2) have been produced with face areas greater than a square millimetre and corresponding volumes exceeding those of earlier crystals by orders of magnitude. Erbium dihydride thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition on Si (100) substrates using erbium target under different low hydrogen pressures.
