Agate Mortars & Pestles Packing
Our Agate Mortars and Pestles are carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition.
Precautions
- Avoid Contact with Specific Substances:
- Extremely hard substances: Do not grind to prevent damage to the mortar and pestle.
- Hydrofluoric acid: Avoid contact to prevent corrosion damage.
- The mortar should be placed on a stable, non-slippery surface.
- The pestle should be kept vertical during use. Large solid pieces can only be crushed, not pounded with the pestle, to avoid damage or splattering.
- Explosive substances should only be gently crushed and not ground.
- When grinding substances corrosive to the skin, cover the mortar with a thick paper or plastic sheet, cut a hole in the center, and insert the pestle through the hole before grinding.
- The amount of solid in the mortar should not exceed 1/3 of its capacity.
Agate mortars cannot be heated and must not be placed in an oven for drying.
- Rinse with water first.
- For acid-resistant mortars, dilute hydrochloric acid can be used for cleaning.
- For stubborn residues, add a small amount of table salt, grind it, and then clean the mortar again.
