Thank You Letter From 2021 SAM Scholarship Winner Alex Guerra

To Stanford Advanced Materials:

From different areas of industry and R&D, materials are at the heart of these fields. Being able to see all the committed researchers and students apply their various backgrounds towards providing a better future for those in need, was a truly inspiring experience. In the world of today, being able to apply different methodologies and resources is key to developing a product that will both benefit the consumer, as well as the future.

In the field of biomedical engineering, materials play a key role in promoting a healthy relationship between the human body and the tools needed to keep us alive. From my research-oriented background, I have learned so much about the importance about producing the right materials for the right  applications. As I have stated earlier, the development of materials that are reliable, as well as functional, provides a confidence in both the customer and consumer knowing that products that those materials are applied to, will become truly revolutionary.

I want to extend my thanks to Stanford Advanced Materials for the opportunity to allow myself,  as well as so many other students and scholars, to demonstrate their commitment in the advanced  materials spectrum. It is the research and progress that is done now that can be so transformative to those  in the future. I sincerely appreciate having had the opportunity to receive the SAM College Scholarship which will assist towards my future endeavors as a biotechnological graduate.

Best,

Alex Guerra
