UV Quartz Cuvettes Description
UV Quartz Cuvette is developed and made of fused quartz (SiO2/ Silica). Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth’s crust. Its formula is SiO2 but in crystal form, it changes into SiO4. Quartz has lots of varieties named by their microstructures such as Rock crystal and Citrine. Our cuvettes are made of fused quartz, a glass containing almost pure silica (SiO2) in non-crystalline form. Unlike other general quartz which adds some ingredients to change their optical and physical properties, fused quartz has higher working and melting points and shows a good ability to transmit ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths. Due to these properties, fused quartz is often used in semiconductor production and laboratory equipment such as lenses and cuvettes. The low thermal coefficient expansion makes fused quartz a good material to make precision mirror substrates.
Stanford Advanced Materials provides two polished quartz cuvettes for absorption spectroscopy and four polished quartz cuvettes for fluorescence spectroscopy. Super micro and micro two polished quartz cuvettes are adhered to by glue. Other cuvettes adhere under high pressure by heating fused quartz. This can enhance cuvettes’ chemical resistance.
UV Quartz Cuvettes Features
