ZrO2 Ceramic Bearings Description
ZrO2 Ceramic Bearings can be used up to 400℃. The maximum speed should be decreased as the temperature increases above ambient, particularly if the bearings are unlubricated. Bearings with a PEEK cage are rated up to 250℃ due to the lower maximum temperature of the cage material. It may be preferable to use a looser radial play at high temperatures, particularly if the inner ring temperature is likely to be greater than the outer ring temperature as this will reduce the radial play of the bearing. Our ZrO2 bearings are supplied with a looser C3 radial play as standard.

ZrO2 Ceramic Bearings Applications
ZrO2 ceramic bearings find versatile applications due to their lightweight, high hardness, and low friction coefficient. Widely employed in high-speed equipment like power tools and motors, these bearings are also crucial in medical instruments for their biocompatibility and corrosion resistance. In the food processing industry, their non-toxic, tasteless, and corrosion-resistant properties make them ideal for equipment. Additionally, ZrO2 bearings are chosen for their corrosion resistance in chemical industries and their suitability for high-temperature, high-speed environments in aerospace applications.

ZrO2 Ceramic Bearings FAQs
Q1: How should Zirconia Ceramic Bearings be cleaned and maintained?
Cleaning: Clean with appropriate solvents or ultrasonic cleaning to remove contaminants. Avoid using abrasive materials that could damage the surface.
Maintenance: Regular inspection for signs of wear or damage. Ensure proper lubrication if required.
Handling: Handle with care to avoid mechanical damage. Store in a clean, dry environment to prevent contamination.
Q2: Are there any limitations to using Zirconia Ceramic Bearings?
Cost: Generally more expensive than traditional metal bearings due to the cost of materials and manufacturing.
Brittleness: While tough, zirconia ceramics can still be brittle and susceptible to fracture under severe impact or shock loads.
Machining Difficulty: Hardness makes them difficult to machine, requiring specialized equipment and techniques.
Q3: What sizes and configurations are available for Zirconia Ceramic Bearings?
Zirconia ceramic bearings are available in various sizes and configurations, including:
Ball Bearings: Common in many precision applications.
Roller Bearings: Used in applications requiring higher load capacities.
Custom Bearings: Can be manufactured to meet specific application needs.
