Description

A class of iron-based alloys that offer excellent high-temperature oxidation and sulfidation resistance. Iron aluminide is a low-cost alternative to stainless steel. They resist corrosion by the formation of an adherent surface film of Al2O3. Iron aluminide is also more ductile then stainless steel. These properties, among others, make better material for some applications, despite its slightly higher cost. Chemical Formula: Fe3Al
