Cordierite Ceramic Heating Parts Description
Cordierite ceramic heating parts are made of cordierite ceramic. Cordierite ceramic is a type of magnesium aluminum silicate with particularly good thermal shock properties. Cordierite also has low thermal conductivity and thermal expansion, while also being cost-effective. Often used as a structural ceramic for kiln furniture applications, it also finds uses in other applications where rapid temperature changes take place.

Cordierite Ceramic Heating Parts Applications
1. Electric Heaters: Cordierite ceramic heating elements are commonly used in electric heaters, such as space heaters, industrial heaters, and electric ovens. The material's ability to withstand high temperatures and rapid temperature changes without cracking makes it ideal for these applications.
2. Infrared Heaters: Cordierite ceramic heating parts are used in infrared heaters as radiating elements. Their high emissivity and ability to withstand high temperatures allow for efficient and consistent infrared radiation, which is useful in applications like curing, drying, and heating.
3. Gas Burners: Cordierite ceramics are used in gas burners, particularly in gas stoves and industrial burners, where they serve as support or protective components. Their thermal shock resistance ensures they can handle the rapid heating and cooling cycles typical of these applications.
4. Catalytic Heaters: In catalytic heaters, which are often used for flameless heating in industrial and outdoor applications, cordierite ceramic parts are used to support the catalyst material. Their stability at high temperatures is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of these heaters.
5. Kiln and Furnace Components: Cordierite heating parts are used in kilns and furnaces, particularly in the ceramics and glass industries. They can be used as elements, supports, or other structural components that need to endure high temperatures and thermal cycling.
6. Automotive Catalytic Converters: Cordierite is widely used in the automotive industry for catalytic converters, where it forms the substrate that supports the catalyst coating. The heating parts in these converters help reduce emissions by facilitating the chemical reactions needed to convert harmful gases into less harmful ones.
7. Oven and Toaster Components: Cordierite ceramic heating elements are used in ovens, toasters, and other cooking appliances. They help distribute heat evenly and maintain stable temperatures, ensuring efficient cooking or baking.
8. Microwave Kilns: Cordierite ceramic is used in microwave kilns, which are small, portable kilns designed for firing small ceramic pieces or glass fusing. The heating parts made of cordierite can withstand the high temperatures generated in a microwave and provide even heating.
9. Heat Shields and Insulators: Cordierite ceramic heating parts are also used as heat shields and insulators in various high-temperature applications, including in engines, furnaces, and other industrial processes where thermal management is critical.
10. Space Heaters and Industrial Radiators: In space heaters and industrial radiators, cordierite ceramic heating parts are used to provide consistent heat output while withstanding the high temperatures and thermal cycling common in these devices.
