Indium is a very soft, ductile, manleable, lustrous metallic metal and easily fusible. It is chemically very similar to gallium, and both of them are able to wet glass.
Indium is used in low-melting fusible alloys such as solders, soft metal high vacuum seals and coating for bearings. It also can be used to form transparent conductive coatings of indium tin oxide (ITO) on glass.
