Molybdenum Alloys

Molybdenum is a refractory metallic element. It can easily form hard and stable carbides. It has the six-highest melting point of any element. It is most commonly used in cast iron, steel, and super alloys as a high temperature, corrosion resistant metal alloy. It can be applied in military and defense industry, specialty machine shops and semiconductor industry.

Molybdenum enhances toughness, strength, hardenability and resistance to wear and corrosion. This kind of versatility makes molybdenum very useful in today’s industrial technology, which increasingly needs materials that can withstand expanded temperature ranges, high pressure and highly corrosive environments, all without significantly expanding or softening.
