Indium (III) Bromide Powder Description
Indium (III) bromide powder, or Indium tribromide powder, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula InBr3. Indium tribromide has the same crystal structure as aluminum trichloride, with 6 coordinate indium atoms. When molten, it is the dimeric In2Br6, and it is predominantly dimeric in the gas phase. The dimer has bridging bromine atoms with a structure similar to dimeric aluminum trichloride Al2Cl6. It is a Lewis acid and has been used in organic synthesis. Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) has over two decades’ experience in the manufacture and sale of the Indium (III) bromide powder.

Indium (III) Bromide Powder Applications
Indium (III) bromide powder is used in organic synthesis as a water-tolerant Lewis acid. It efficiently catalyzes the three-component coupling of β-keto esters, aldehydes and urea (or thiourea) to afford the corresponding dihydropyrimidinones. It is used as a catalyst to produce dithioacetals when unactivated alkynes react with thiols and fields such as optics and microelectronics that utilize semiconductor technology have wide uses for indium in high-performing solar cells.
