Metal Injection Molding Feedstock Cr12MoV (MIM) Description
Metal Injection Molding Feedstock Cr12MoV (MIM) is composed of Mo, V, and a decrease of C. Cr12MoV steel is a kind of ledeburite cold work tool steel developed from Cr12 steel. Cr12MoV has the advantage of higher hardenability, hardness, wear resistance, and small heat treatment distortion. It’s regularly used in manufacturing cold mold with a heavy load, bulk production, and complex shape. Cr12MoV is ledeburite steel, so its toughness is greatly influenced by the carbide morphology and distribution.
Metal Injection Molding (MIM) means using metal powder as raw material, adding composite particles of polymer materials in the mixing and refining process, and using the "forming + sintering" method to manufacture materials and product powders materials, so as to be applied to precision structural parts. MIM can realize the integrated manufacturing of parts of different materials. It has the characteristics of wide material adaptability, a high degree of automation, and a high degree of batch production.
